Words that are used to indicate the position of subjects in any statement are called 'Prepositions'. Therefore, let's study different prepositions and how to use them in French language.

Under - sous (su)
To - a (ha)
In - dans (don)
Beside - a cote (a koh teh)
Behind - derriere (dEri-eh)
In front - devant (doh-von)
Inside - dedans (doh-don)
Outside - dehors (deh-or)

How can we now make use of preposition in a statement.
Example: Le stylo est sur la table.
                  The pen is on the table.
                  Il est dedans.
                  He is inside.
                  Le garage est derriere du           marché.
                  The garage is at the back of the market.
